What is Sports Massage

Sports massage is one of the most effective ways to maintain and protect the body from aches, pains and injuries. It focuses on the soft tissue/muscle. It is firmer and more targeted than the type of massage you would receive in a spa or beauty treatment centre.

Amateur and professional athletes alike have used sports massage to help them recover from injuries or intensive training, reduce pain and prevent further damage. It can also be used to warm up, cool down or relax before or after exercise. Sports massage can be a help, even if you are not a regular exerciser.

Reduce Pain

Tight and damaged muscles are painful and can really benefit from being released. Those tense muscles also hold on to waste products such as lactic acid. A deep soft tissue massage will help remove waste products sitting in the muscles.

Reduce Muscular Tension

Deep soft tissue massage can help to combat tension and stiffness by warming and stretching the tissues and increasing blood flow to the muscles. This helps improve muscle flexibilty allowing them to move more easily.
